Wow! Jesus Quest is Growing in India Too!
Look at the initiative of these young people to convert the YouTube videos into their own language!
We just got this report in from Prarthana, our staff member from India. She had to go home to work on her visa for Thailand and started a Jesus Quest group there.
“Here’s Jesus Quest in my youth group. Some of the kids took the transcript from YouTube . Translated it on chat GPT w time stamps . And added the subtitle file to the VLC player . They’ve decided that one of the young adults in the group will brief them about the video in Marathi (my state language) and then play the video w/Marathi subtitles.”
I think these young people demonstrate such remarkable initiative! They are hungry to follow Jesus and though our resource is in English, they are going the extra mile to make this resource theirs as well, by figuring out how to subtitle it and by having someone bilingual process the ideas and explain it to the gathered youth in their own tongue.
