Introducing the Jesus Quest Online!

This is the biggest thing we've done in a long time and we're excited to share it with you!

What do you think is the biggest challenge facing the church around the world?

Whew! There are so many, right?

  • Antichrist culture

  • Relentless media highlighting on the failure of Christian leaders

  • Physical persecution in places like India and most Muslim nations

  • Attacks on the mind of our children when they leave the church to go to university

  • Low level of Bible knowledge among younger Christians

  • Only 5% of Christians even tithe

That's just what I came up with in five minutes.

I think the biggest problem the church is facing is actually what one researcher called, "the global crisis of non-discipleship.”

What does this mean? It means that around the world the minds and actions of Christians are not in alignment with the clear teachings of Jesus.

I heard one guy say it this way. “We all choose, which parts of the Bible to ignore.” I didn't like it when he said it, but the more I thought about it the more I accepted that it's probably the truth.

Thanks for reading Emerge Change Makers! This post is public so feel free to share it.

The Educational Approach

In the modern church, perhaps it started when we learned how to read 200 years ago. Most Christians in history have been illiterate. 200 years ago we established public education and all of our families learned how to read, which gave us a huge boost in life. Education became central to escaping poverty, and we fell in love with all that we can learn from books and teachers.

That is great for most things, but it does not necessarily produce spiritual change. We get educated minds, but our lives do not necessarily align with all the teaching we have received and agreed with mentally.

But really, I think independence from God has always been a problem. Now it's more like a crisis.

I'm not here to whine about it. We want to do something about it with your help.

Over the next two years we want to train 1000 people to be aligned with Jesus and to take on discipleship of others as their core ministry. Because the average person does 8 hours a day in screen time we want to do this online.

Doing discipleship online is a brand new idea. Sherry and I travel the world and we have still not seen a church anywhere doing online discipleship. If we can develop this capacity, it will be a huge boost to the ministry of local churches everywhere.

In this video, I'll give you the background and go into detail on how this innovative program will work.

Please take a few minutes to watch the video (increase the speed to 1.5 if you’re in a hurry) so you can see the unveiling of this new big idea that can help us stop the global crisis of non-discipleship in churches around the world.

Action discipleship done online in community.

Thanks so much for standing behind us. Missions work is a team effort. Thanks so much for your encouragement and support!

We love you!

Chuck and Sherry
